SUPPORTING VICTIMS OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AND BULLYING
Pass the Beauty is organizing an Emergency Covid-19 Stay Safe Backpacks to distribute to the Homeless in Nashville, TN. Our organization’s mission is to support women, children, and families who are victims and survivors of violence while utilizing and leveraging community partnerships and community networks. Your Support is needed to meet our goal to collect backpacks and materials to help support many homeless communities in Nashville, TN.
Planning and response to COVID-19 transmission among people experiencing homelessness require help from communities, volunteers, and organizations since COVID-19 people have used extreme measures to stay protected by practicing healthy hygiene practices. But what about the people who are homeless? Before many people become homeless, Cleaning oneself can also remind them of their appearance before life on the streets. "Self-care and the ability to receive care in this setting helps to build anyone's self-worth and value. Healthy Hygiene is essential in the homeless community. Being a woman while homeless is a vital task of sustaining good Hygiene can be challenging. Homeless women suffered the most mentally during limited daytime shelter bathroom access and no access to feminine products. Women suffered from Menstrual Hygiene while living homeless can be a public health disparity.
People experiencing homelessness have a significantly higher risk of unintentional injuries (bruises, cuts, burns, etc.) People who are experiencing homelessness also have barriers to self-care and personal Hygiene. Sometimes, they do not have access to a shower, a change of clean clothing, washing their hands, and have a higher risk of an infectious disease.
Solution: Providing an Emergency Covid19 Stay Safe Backpacks will help provide each person with masks, personal hygiene items, first aid kit, and non-perishable snacks. Persons experiencing extreme poverty, especially those experiencing homelessness, may face reduced access to sanitation facilities and difficulties engaging in health-promoting self-care activities as a result.
Results: Good personal Hygiene has a positive contributor to mental health among homeless persons. Good Hygiene lowers the risk of diseases and illnesses.
